no company gives (unlimited bandwidth) when you get high traffic however you will get a notice to upgrade, but that’s only when you get very very high traffic, and then you may pay $50/month for a dedicated server, but then again you should cover it by making alot of money from your traffic, just to let you know. I personally use HostGator haven’t had any trouble and I pay $6/month. 1-every company claims that it gives you unlimited bandwidth and hosting because MOST of the people who create websites are NEWBIES, they don’t understand anything, not even html. they see the word unlimited, they’re happy and they go for it
2-it’s easy for the hosting company to say it’s unlimited, 95% of its users are newbies and newbies, don’t use so much hosting space and their websites sucks, no body visit them so they use no bandwidth
3- in reality the web host give about 250 GB of disk space and about 500 GB of bandwidth but the users don’t use that much, and so they have around 50 or 100 on a server
4- most of shared hosting companies don’t give ssh, they can’t afford to give that for newbies, they’ll crash the server without knowing it and in doing so, all of the websites hosted on the same server will be down – and if you have ssh access you may install software like ffmpeg, it’s a big program and they don’t want it to be installed on the server
5- Since newbies fail miserably to optimize their sites, they don’t even understand the word, they may consume more than 10% of the servers CPU, so shared hosting provider will shut down your site if you consume more than 10% of the CPU
6- since newbies test their sites on server, they may upload so many files to the server, so some hosting providers restricted the number of upload you can make but it’s a very big number and no way you can reach the limit
